Find Great Instrumental Music Online
July 29th, 2009 by Aaron McLain, under Music. No Comments
The internet is the place to look for free online streaming instrumental music. The only problem is where to find it. It is packed full to the rim of free online radio stations that play all types of instrumental genres to include jazz, classical, blues, and even new age.
With a little detective work and patients you can find your own favorite websites that will play your favorite instrumentals. In this article I will share a few of my hot spots online where I go to get my free instrumental music online.
First on my list is AOL Radio. This is a place to go for music to relax and meditate by. And you dont have to be an AOL member to listen. Simply type AOL Radio in your browser and you are directed to their main Music site. From the main Stations by Category list located on the left side of the site, under Eclectic, youll find titles such as Ambient, Meditation, Nature Sounds and New Age. This site also offers a Classical section where you can find stations playing every type of classical instrumental music online that you can think of from Baroque to Renaissance. This is one of my favorite spots to go to listen to Classical instrumental music online. The music on AOL Radio is rarely interrupted with talking, save for the occasional two minutes for site identification purposes. To check out this site go to www.music.aol.com.
Need that lift or that extra get up in your step? Then do like I do and visit one of my favorite Christian instrumental music sites online, crosswalk radio. They are known for having some of the most popular new age Christian contemporary instrumentals along with a well balanced mix of old. All you have to do is register with the Salem Web Network All-Pass System and you are granted access to some great pick me up instrumentals.
To listen to free online instrumental Christmas music, go to www.live365.com which has instrumental online radio stations where you can find all Jazz Christmas instrumentals, or a collection of traditional and non-traditional Christmas instrumentals in the new age genre, including ambient and Celtic. This is one of my favorite places to go to listen to Christmas instrumental music online because they have a great variety of instrumental Christmas music online radio stations so I can flip through them whenever a song comes on I dont like. The music is free for the listening with no sign up; however, it does have many more interruptions for ads than does AOL Radio. Live 365 does offer an option to subscribe and enjoy ad-free music. Depending on how much music you listen to, it might well be worth the price of subscription.
Jazz is the rebel when it comes to music and its no different when dealing in the world of instrumentals. The number one place on my hot spot list when I want to hear some rebellious instrumental music is My Music Stream. This website has tones of instrumentals, but I mainly use it for the latest and greatest in the jazz instrumental music world. Also I like the fact that I can download free jazz instrumental music or just listen to them live and streaming.
Sometimes I get the blues and need some good old blues music to sulk with. The place I like best when Im in this mood is My Music Stream. Yes I go there for jazz too, but like I said they have a wide variety and I just happen to like their blues variety too. They are one of the best places online for free instrumental music online.
Hopefully, these suggestions will get you started on your way to finding some of the best instrumental music on the web. Now you can build your list of the best places online to download or listen live to your favorite music instrumentals. Until next time
On To The Dance Floor With Salsa
July 28th, 2009 by Jennifer Ramos, under Movies. No Comments
This dance is just one of the many dances out there that you or I can learn. After some practice, any novice can take over the dance floor.
I turn red every time I am asked to dance. Dancing is something that I am not really good at. Many of my friends go out to clubs, while I’ve never been to any because I know there would be a lot of dancing there. I don’t really feel sore about it, I mean you can always do something else in a club, but people go there primarily to showcase their talents on the stage.
I admire people who are good at dancing and have been doing it a long time, those who do it with so much grace and expression. If there is one thing I wished it would have been to have not waited so long to take a class.
Who knows how long people have danced? There are perhaps a million or more occasions for dancing, hence the different styles and movements. Also, people from different ethnic backgrounds have their own dances, a cultural product, something to be proud of, shared and of course, tried. To me though the sexiest most interesting and fun dance has to be Salsa
With its Latin roots Salsa popularity has reached every corner of the world. It has been embraced by billions of people because of its sexy, stylish, intricate moves. More than that, the creative possibilities of linking moves and spins creates a beautiful expression of style and grace. Because of this, salsa dancing is appealing to dance enthusiasts from every generation.
In salsa dance, the movement of the body from the arms to the hips, down to the feet is very important. But more than that, the emotion you put into your every move makes this dance more sensual. It’s a dance that would make you feel good afterwards because finally, you can do the sexy moves you’ve always wanted to try.
If you want to get in shape and lose some extra pounds, there is no better way than learning how to dance. Imagine the amount of calories you’ll be shedding in each dance session!
If you do salsa dancing, you not only dance, you also stretch muscles for fitness and make your body a medium of self-expression, and an effective one at that. These are only few of the benefits people get from dancing. Add to the list meeting new people, being pro and competing, sharing your talent to the world while doing what you love.
To the novice, it may seem an impossible task, to commit oneself to dance, be frustrated at times, but the rewards are great. There is nothing more fulfilling than accomplishing something you have always wanted. Salsa may look difficult but aren’t all dances like that? If you give it a try, learn one or two basic steps and I know you’ll get hooked, millions of people have and they seem happy about it.
Tips For Choosing A Great DJ To Make Your Event Memorable
July 28th, 2009 by Lawrence Walker with George Best, under Music. No Comments
Regardless of the type of event you may be putting on, the choice of a DJ or entertainment coordinator is one of the most important decisions you need to make to ensure that your guests have a great time. Finding a truly professional DJ who offers several entertainment options can be a bit challenging, but well-worth the effort.
We have found during our time performing DJ services in the San Antonio area that many people get so overwhelmed when planning their event, that their choice in entertainment often is decided solely by who offers the best price. This can be a big mistake, as the lowest price option may be completely unsuitable for your event. While a fast-talking “go-getter” type may seem like a reasonable choice, it pays to be a bit cautious in who you hire to avoid a situation in which your entertainment is completely inappropriate for your event.
Through our experience providing San Antonio DJ services, we have found that there are several things prospective clients should look for when hiring a DJ for their special event. The following are some tips for helping to distinguish a true professional, who is likely to do a good job for you and make your event fun and entertaining for your guests, from a “hobbyist” who is more concerned with his or her own entertainment and making a few bucks as a bonus.
The first hallmark of a professional is insurance. The DJ should carry his or her own liability insurance. While it is a rare event that someone gets hurt as a result of the entertainment at a special event, having insurance is a sign that the DJ is serious and responsible when it comes to business.
Another indicator that a DJ is serious about his or her business is being a member of one or more national and/or regional DJ professional associations. Besides it being an indicator of professionalism, a DJ who is active in his or her associations also has contacts with other DJs who could fill in if an emergency arises and the DJ is unable to make it to your event.
You can also tell a good DJ by the equipment he or she uses. Good DJs are usually proud to talk about and show you their equipment. In addition to having professional-grade equipment in good condition, it is important that the DJ has backup equipment on hand at your event, just in case something breaks down.
Lastly, it is important to consider the personality and appearance of a DJ you are considering hiring. If the DJ shows up for your initial meeting without a professional appearance and demeanor, he or she may not be a good choice. It is also important that you feel confident that the DJ is going to work with you to give you what you want, as opposed to trying to bend you to his or her personal preferences.

Rent DVD Online Sites And Why We Love Them
July 27th, 2009 by Patsy Burks, under Music. No Comments
Many people like to rent movies, but will turn away from the idea when they realize they’ll need to go to a store. Today, this need is fast becoming a thing of the past. There are now several rent DVD online websites that will mail your DVDs to you for no charge past membership fees.
Besides having to waste gas on a drive to the store, you’d also have to march down badly organized aisles of movies, with no system to help you find a specific title or what you might be interested in. Such things are available on websites, where you can do all, looking at everything sitting down.
Even after going to the video store a first time, you’d have to return, just to drop the DVD in a box to return it. Now, with no late fees, you can hold on to your movies. Later, when you are ready to send them back, you only need to use the provided envelope in the mail.
The selection at rental websites puts those at rental stores to shame. Many have around 38, 000 different titles to pick from – and on any genre you can think of. Does that mean they’re going to cost a lot? Not at all! There are plans available for whatever you want to pay.
In many cases, you only have a lukewarm chance of getting the movie you want from a store, either because it’s older and a certain outlet might not carry it, or because it’s new and popular and quickly sold out. With the internet, you can get any movie any time.
People might argue that this method is just lazy. But it goes beyond that – renting movies from the store really was just irritating as well. You’d have to stand around with people who all wanted to rent different things and then stand behind others in the long lines.
It’s not just people trying to get out of exercise. It’s just that when they have an option where there are no late fees, and where they can watch a movie several times before just sending it back, they have no reason to go to the store.
All you have to do to start getting movies is join, pay the membership fee, and make a list of movies. Different plans will send different amounts of DVDs at a time, but when you’re done, new ones will come out automatically when the old ones are returned.
Don’t worry about how long it takes a lot of your mail to get where it needs to be. The systems used by these companies will get your movies fast, with the money saved making up for any wait.
It is true that a membership fee will probably be more than one trip to a video store. But you only need to pay it once a month or so, as opposed to at every visit, and there’s no risk of raking up a huge late fee bill.
There are more than enough movies to rent DVD online, especially with the busy lives people lead today. Take a look at your options, pick the best one for you and your budget, and get started now.
Batman And His Background
July 26th, 2009 by Andrew Tyalor, under Movies. No Comments
Batman is possibly one of the most successful comic book characters ever created. He is also possibly one of the darkest.
The origins of Batman are shadowy and unsettling. As a child, Bruce Wayne (Batman’s alter-ego) watched as his parents were murdered. After this terrible experience, Wayne made a conscious decision that he would avenge their deaths by fighting back against crime. After creating the guise of ‘The Bat Man’ he begins his new life of adventure, danger and double identity.
Even in his personal life, there is a degree of brooding and darkness and if he were depicted today, the analysts would have plenty to work with.
These aspects have become more apparent in recent years. The ongoing string of Batman films that began in 1989 have concentrated on the darker facets of his character. In fact they have gradually become ever more sombre. If we think back to the Batman television series of the sixties then the differences are enormous. The Batman of then was light-hearted and funny. Yes, the Batman of today still contains humor but now it leans more toward the dark and the cynical.
The whole concept of Batman is full of shadows. Gotham City (fittingly similar in name to ‘Gothic City’) is a place that is full of darkly styled buildings and myriads of unlit streets. Several of Batman’s foes have a distinctively dark feel about them and The Joker (probably his most famous enemy) is so dark and ominous that he is downright scary. This was most apparent in the latest movie release, ‘The Dark Knight’ where he was played in such a frightening and realistic a way by the late Heath Ledger that there was even talk about whether or not the film was suitable viewing for children.
If Batman were real how would he fit into today’s culture? He would be a loner and most probably an outcast. Interacting with others would prove difficult. Opening up about his inner turmoil surely wouldn’t be easy .
Therefore we have a depressed, Prozac-popping social outcast with an introverted personality. And what of his crime fighting side? With his personal problems would it not be easy to imagine him having vigilante and anti-social tendencies? He could even, ironically, become a criminal.
And so, after thinking it through we have a very different Batman from the one who is so widely known and loved. We are left with a disturbed and depressed individual who is drug dependent and unable to communicate with anyone. He could quite possibly be a dangerous repeat offender with his own ideas of right and wrong (maybe even having sociopathic tendencies). And, to top it all, because of his antisocial thoughts and behaviour he may have been awarded with an ASBO.
