Red Sorghum: Evocative, beautifully filmed amalgamation drama, black comedy, kid story, fable which journals a most untraditional union between a set of rural lovers throughout the 1920s. The years pass, a new years shows up, and with it materialize Japanese invaders. Cast includes Gong Li, Jiang Wen, Liu Ji, Teng Rijun, and Qian Ming. (91 minutes, 1987)
Hackers: A group of youthful competer specialists is framed for crimes committed by pc whiz and could-be master felon Stevens, and have to use their own computer abilities to demonstrate their innocence. It is quick paced and the lucid directing makes it fun. Cast includes Jonny Lee Miller, Angelina. Still, Stallone knows how to press all the right buttons, particularly in an awesome teaching montage. Cast includes Kevin Kline, Penelope Wilton, Denzel Washington, Kevin McNally, John Defrost, Timothy West, Juanita Waterman, John Hargreaves, Alec McCowen, Zakes Mokae, and Ian Richardson.
