The Naked Gun: There is a plot to kill Queen Elizabeth II while she is visiting Los Angeles. Tough, but completely incompetent L.A. cop Frank Drebin is tracking down the potential plot. He find the evil Vincent Ludwig and foil his plan.
The General’s Daughter: Army investigator Travolta exposes more than he ever envisioned while he looks into the murder of a trendy basic’s baby girl, herself a commander. As proof of a chief disgrace grows, it gets to be transparent that the Army’s only interest is keeping a lid on the matter. Slickly finished, however this twisty story from Nelson DeMille’s bestseller has a bulky air of contrivance in regards to it. Cast includes Simon West, John Travolta, Timothy Hutton, Clarence Williams, James Woods, and John Frankenheimer. (125 minutes, 1999)
House of Women: This movie is a corny rendition of circumstances in a female penitentiary raised by excellent cast and quick pacing. This film was later redone as Caged. Cast includes Shirley Horseman, Andrew Duggan, Constance Ford, Barbara Nichols, Margaret Hayes, and Virginia Gregg. (85 minutes, 1962)
Last Action Hero: Danny loves action hero Jack Slater. He gets a ticket to go see his latest movie. This ticket is magical and during the movie Danny finds himself in the movie itself, with his hero. When one of the bad guys steals Danny’s ticket he escapes into the real world. Danny and Jack must find a way back to the real world and stop this bad guy before it’s too late.
Above The Law: When martial arts expert Nico Toscani worked for the CIA he did missions in Vietnam. While there he saw one of his superiors, Zagon, use the war to help him set up a drug smuggling ring. Now, years later, working as a Chicago detective, he starts to close in on Zagon. Zagon is well connected, and this causes Nico his job. Now all bets are off, as Nico will stop at nothing to track the drug smugglers down.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: A kids lyrical in regards to a flying automobile is one ludicrous journey, with entirely forgettable score and some of the shoddiest visual effects ever. This is loosely based on novel by Ian Fleming. Cast includes Dick VanDyke, Sally Ann Howes, Lionel Jeffiies, Gert Frobe, Anna Quayle, and Benny Hill. (142 minutes, 1968)
Eye For An Eye: Karen McCann has just had her life shattered. A total stranger has broken into her home and murdered her daughter. In spite of certain guilt, the killer is set free due to legal technicalities. Her outrage turns to an obsession to see justice done. Just how far will she go to achieve this?
Soul Food: The tradition of Sunday dinners with Mama Joe has kept the family together for going on 40 years. When she is hospitalized with diabetes, the Sunday dinners stop. Almost immediately the family falls into turmoil, with lots of infighting and problems. Finally Mama Joe’s grandson Ahmad sees what needs to be done, and Sunday dinners are revived.
I Want to Go Home: Lyrical author-actor Green plays a compulsive American cartoonist who voyages to Paris for an craft gallery show-and to see his alienated baby girl Benson. Depardieu, an exuberant admirer, brings him to his mommy’s nation home for the weekend. Written by Jules Feiffer, with a score by John Kander, this Franco-American curio is appallingly poor. Cast includes Adolph Green, Gerard Depardieu, Linda Lavin, Laura Benson, Micheline Presle, and Ludivine Sagnier. (101 minutes, 1989)
