Playing the piano

July 8th, 2009 by Admin, under Learning Piano. No Comments

Imagine having the ability to take a seat at your piano, place your hands on the keyboard, and just play!

Many piano scholars think the facility to do this needs years of study. They could not be more wrong! Learning how to play what you are feeling does not need intensive awareness of harmony or speculation. All that is needed is the power to do 2 things : one. Believe that you know enough two. Believe that you are good enough Thousands of classically trained pianists can play Rachmaninoff and Bach but are unable to express themselves poetically at the keyboard. Why? Due to the above two beliefs! It isn’t enough to have mastered piano strategy. I would have liked to play what I felt at any particular time – to be in a position to improvise. And trust me, we ALL have these voices somewhere in our heads at one point or another. I learned that I already knew more than sufficient to play the piano.
