Metropolitan: Typical comedy, brimming with sarcasm, is set throughout Christmas season, with hermit Clements drawn into small gang of buddies, and out of his shell. Cast includes Carolyn Farina, Edward Clements, Christopher Eigeman, Taylor Nichols, Allison Rutledge-Parisi, Dylan Hundley, Isabel Gillies, Bryan Leder, Can Kempe, and Elizabeth Thompson. The Three Muskateers: Musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis join young D’Artagnan in an attempt to stop Cardinal Richelieu, who is plotting to form an alliance with the English. The Musketeers are abandoned, and asked to throw down their swords. These three refuse, and along with D’Artagnan will try and save France.
King Arthur: Camelot is nowhere in scene in this revisionist check out the fable of Emperor Arthur: the shady, abrasive tale interests a combatant who quarrels long and tough, only to be betrayed by his free. Knightley is too youthful for the role of Guinevere and her skimpy costume in the climactic battle scene is comical. Cast includes Clive Owen, Keira Knightley, Loan Gruffudd, Stephen Dillane, Stellan Skarsgaro, Ray Winstone, Mads Mikkelsen, and Ray Stevenson. (126 minutes, 2004)
House on Haunted Hill: Zillionaire Cost offers group of individuals $100,000 each if they’ll invest a day in spooky old mansion with kill-full history; he even grants loaded guns as reception favors. Campy fun; possibly the Castle film which keeps up best on Television. Cast includes Vincent Cost, Carol Ohmart, Richard Long, Alan Marshal, Elisha Chef, Carolyn Craig, and Leona Anderson. (75 minutes, 1958)
Beetlejuice: When Adam and Barbara meet their unlikely death in a car accident, they return home but are only ghosts in their house. When a new family is set to move in, they try to scare them off. Failing miserably they enlist the services of Beetlejuice, a people remover, to rid the home of these living people.
Play It to the Bone: 2 boxer buddies are employed as last-second alternates on a primo Las Vegas quarrel card, and convey their questions and doubts when driving from L.A. to Vegas with their reciprocal ex-lady friend. Un-winded pace of Shelton’s script tests the watcher to stay fascinated through the long street trip up to the stormy and eventful quarrel and its aftermath. Numerous games and show business stars appear as their selves. Cast includes Woody Harrelson, Antonio Banderas, Lolita Davidovich, Tom Sizemore, Cylk Cozart, Aida Turturro, and Jack Carter.
